Snagshout App & Website
Snagshout needed to get an initial app launched under very tight deadlines. Snagshout connects early adopters and influencers with great brands that appreciate their customers. Shoppers use the app to discover products for a discount, in exchange for a review. Amazon has since changed it's rules, so the review is not longer a requirement. Snagshout has been featured on CNN Money, The Chicago Tribune, US News and World Report, and The Penny Hoarder.
Lean UX principles
To create an MVP App release plan as quickly a possible I created an initial story map, a rapid prototype, and then held "walk and talk" story map slicing exercises to get sign-off on an initial release plan. The team at Seller Labs was able to rapidly launch the app, partially due to the iterative nature of the slices, where I was able to deliver wires and flows to get the developers going at the same time as I was polishing designs.
Discovery
I created an experience map to expose opportunities, then took these to the team to assessed them for value/effort. I then created some very simple wires and sketches to validate the ideas, which helped the team to estimate effort.
Responding quickly to shifting business requirements
One of the biggest challenges with Snagshout was that it was so very reliant on the Amazon Code of Conduct β which was a moving target. Amazon dropped a bombshell on us by informing us that they would no longer allow discounts in exchange for reviews. - which was a huge part of the Snagshout revenue stream.
We were able to quickly pivot to not require users to leave a review in exchange for the code, while still maintaining a product that was profitable. Eventually, Snagshout broke off as it's own successful company, along with itβs other flagship product "Promote", which I also worked to design from scratch with the core team. I'm incredibly proud of the launch of that product and seeing Snagshout and Promote move to the next level.
